Although this article from the Guardian is several years old, I just discovered it yesterday. My reading wish list is now even longer! (Click on the image below to read the article.)

I really enjoy vocal music and acapella in particular. When Sam Robson, one of my favourite acapella artists, recommended this acapella cover of the J-pop hit "Valentine", I immediately stopped everything to listen. All I can say is WOW! Such a delight! (I just realized that the vocalist is the original artist, Asako Toki. She is well known for her contemporary interpretation of "City Pop" and contributed to its revival in the 2010s. Here's the original version of "Valentine".) I love embroidery and when I was much younger I often had one or two embroidery projects on the go. However, my projects most certainly did not look anything this! These are the works of NEOSA, a creation of Noah Edwards Ogawa, an embroiderer from Hokkaido, Japan who studied haute couture embroidery in Paris.
I highly recommend you visit the galley page on the NEOSA website. It's a stunning display of skill, artistry and creativity! If possible, I highly recommend a visit to one of his exhibitions as well. It's on certainly on my list! (I've included a photo of Noah with his work to give you some sense of scale. And, yes, that 3D bee is also embroidered.) The Ezra Klein Show podcasts are always interesting but this one is especially so. It's entitled "This Conversation About the "Reading Mind" is a Gift." It's the kind of podcast that you listen to and immediately think, I need to listen to that again! Enjoy! (If this is behind a paywall, you can find the show on your podcast app.)
I've spent many, many Christmases in Japan. For the most part, I've come to accept the limitations of the season here and have made my own traditions. However, one thing I still miss (other than my mother's pork pie) is eggnog! It's impossible to find it here. I have made it but my husband loathes it so finding a recipe for only a small amount has been a challenge. Until now, that is! This recipe for small-batch eggnog from Smitten Kitchen looks doable! I will most certainly give it a try over the next week.

I'm stepping back from social media so this is where I share links that I think others might enjoy. They will rarely be related to photography though! Archives
