ABOUT ME

I'm a Canadian from the foothills of rural Alberta but I have spent more than half of my life in Osaka, Japan. I work hard and photography has helped keep me sane.

If asked what kind of photographs I take, I'm of the "Look at this! Look at this!" genre. My images are all "found" images. They are of things I come across in the course of my daily life - be it in my garden or when I'm out and about. I love this quote by Roald Dahl, "Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places."

My camera is a beat-up, second-hand Nikon 1 J2 that was given to me in 2014. At first, it was a constant battle as I struggled to learn how to use something other than a point-and-shoot. However, over time, I have grown to love this camera. It's small enough that I can carry it with me constantly, and that has made all the difference. I still have much to learn but I'm so thankful for the gift of this camera. It has brought me much joy.
