I love shaga irises. I was not familiar with them at all before moving to Japan but now they brighten up my garden every spring. They are wild so it's not easy to find plants to add to your garden. However, years ago, a dear friend gave me some plants from her mother's garden after I had told her how much I loved them. It took a while for the plant to settle into their new home but now they require almost no care or fuss. The season has just begun and I couldn't be happier!
